TRUEngine Program Hits 15,000 Engines
Mar 15,2017
The
TRUEngineTMprogram reached 15,000 engine enrollments, a 25% increase in
the last year.More than 200 operators and lessors have enrolled their
engines in theTRUEngine program.
"Customers
understand thesignificant TRUEngine designation benefits, such as
higher asset residualvalues, optimized product support and the ease of
remarketing theirassets," said Jean Lydon-Rodgers, president and CEO of
GE Aviation'sServices organization. "This recognition is resulting in
increasedenrollment."
The
TRUEngine qualificationprocess includes the customer submitting
maintenance records and a review by GEor CFM to ensure engine
configuration and overhaul practices are consistentwith GE- and
CFM-issued engine manuals and other recommendations. There is nocost to
participate, and the TRUEngine designation is fully transferable.
With
the TRUEnginedesignation, engine owners, potential buyers, lessors and
appraisers know anengine's content and maintenance history have been
verified by GE or CFM,enabling them to more easily evaluate engine
configuration, asset value andre-marketability. Third-party studies show
engines maintained in the OEMconfiguration can have as much as 50%
higher residual value versus thoseengines maintained with Parts
Manufacturer Approval (PMA) content and/orDesignated Engineering Repairs
(DERs). The TRUEngine designation is provided onan individual engine
serial number basis and remains in effect until the nextshop visit.
Launched in 2008 for theCFM56* engine family, the program has expanded to include GE's GE90, CF6, GEnxand CF34 engines.
According to the forecast, in the next 10 years, the global turbofan/turbojet engine accumulative total demand will exceed 73600 units, worth over USD 416 billion; total demand for turboshaft exceed 34,000 units, worth over USD 19 billion; turboprop engine total demand exceeds 1.6 million units, worth over USD 15 billion; piston engine cumulative total demand over 33,000 units, accounting for more than 60% of the general aviation power market, worth USD 30 billion. Under this background, Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics will hold China Aerospace Propulsion Technology Summit 2017 to promote the development of aerospace propulsion technology, providing strong technical support for aero engine industry. On behalf of the organizing committee, we sincerely invite you to this year¡¯s CAPTS which will be held in Shenyang, on May 24th - 25th, 2017, to discuss aero engine new R&D and manufacturing trends. Hope the CAPTS series activities can bring you the maximum value.
