Intelsat Completes Gogo Acquisition to Become World's Biggest Provider of Mile-high Broadband

International satellite operator Intelsat has completed the strategic acquisition of the Commercial Aviation business of Gogo, in a move that will create the world¡¯s biggest provider of inflight broadband connectivity.
The $400 million all cash deal will bring together the two firms to deliver innovation across the commercial airline industry.
¡°Combining Intelsat¡¯s next-generation global telecommunications network with Gogo Commercial Aviation¡¯s leading capabilities and airline relationships will create unprecedented innovation in inflight digital connectivity, unlocking exciting new growth and brand loyalty opportunities across the airline industry,¡± said Intelsat Chief Executive Stephen Spengler.
The deal will allow Intelsat to further expand into vertically integrated managed mobility services, and into the rapidly growing inflight connectivity market.
Following the completion of the deal, Intelsat is now responsible for providing broadband connectivity for nine of the top 20 global airlines ¨C with an installed base of more than 3,000 commercial aircraft.

Under this background, the 3rd Connected Aircraft China Congress will be held in 2021. the congress was hosted by Civil Aircraft Operation Support Technology Sub-committee of CSAA and Shanghai Society of Aeronautics, supported by COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Design And Research Institute, organized by COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service Co., Ltd. The congress will mainly focused on in-flight connective technologies and operation.
