Virgin Australia to Open New Pilot Training Centre

Virgin Australia has announced it will be opening a world-class pilot training centre in Tamworth. Tamworth Regional Council chose Virgin Australia Group as the airline to establish the training centre in the New South Wales city.

Tamworth Regional Council Mayor Cr Col Murray added: “Few regional airports boast facilities the calibre of those in Tamworth so we have been in the very fortunate position of attracting more than one proposal to deliver commercial pilot training services at our airport. The Virgin Australia Group has put forward a very compelling proposition, one that makes best use of our facilities and offers a sustainable return for Tamworth Regional Airport.”

“While details of our agreement will be released in due course, we remain impressed with the innovative approach taken by the Virgin Australia Group and their genuine desire to work in partnership with Council, our airport and the business community. It is thanks to visionary community leaders of the past that today we can offer such well-established pilot training facilities. It is now time for Tamworth Regional Council’s vision, along with the global vision of the Virgin Australia Group, for Tamworth Regional Airport to grow and become a world-class Aviation Centre of Excellence.”

In order to strengthen the relationship, build up more cooperation between Chinese domestic universities and institutions, we will organize the 4^th Annual Civil Aviation Training International Forum (CATF 2018), event venue will be set up in Guanghan city, China, on December 5^th-6^th.

CATF 2018 is organized by Civil Aviation Flight University of China and COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service Co., Ltd., it will focus on new technology use in aviation training, effectiveness on training courses, policies on balancing general aviation training and commercial aviation training, increase trainees’ ability, all based on the collaboration between Chinese flight schools, foreign flight institutions and airlines. CATF 2018 also breeds potential business opportunities both domestically and internationally. It will be a great chance not only to know the current Chinese market, but also meet the senior executives from Chinese aviation training industry.
