China Aerospace Propulsion Technology Summit 2014 (CAPTS 2014) was successfully held in Chengdu

Officially hosted by China Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, co-organized by AVIC Gas Turbine Establishment and AVIC Chengdu Engine (Group) Co., Ltd, and organized by Galleon, China Aerospace Propulsion Technology Summit 2014 (CAPTS 2014) was successfully held in Chengdu on May 28^th, undertaking the “Design, Manufacture (including materials) and Test of Civil Aircraft Engine” as the theme.

Executives of international mainstream engine enterprises including GE, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, Safran, CFM, Turbomeca, Avio, MTU, CIAM, NPO Saturn and Samsung Techwin attended this event. the total number of attendees reached over 150, from 15 countries and regions.

shared their insights of the state-of-the-art facilities and technologies at CAPTS 2014.

Mr. Xingmin GUI, Vice Chair, Power Sub Committee, Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics chaired the opening.

In addition, seven industry elites joined in a panel discussion of the highlighted topic of “How to establish a joint team of design and manufacturing to realize high quality pilot manufacturing through concurrent engineering?”. 

China Aerospace Propulsion Technology Summit has been held for three times since 2012, which attracted delegates from almost every design institutes and manufacturing plants of China aero engine industry. The top 3  international aviation engine OEMs and famous engine module companies. According to the statistics, 24 programs achieved initial intent of cooperation on this platform, throughout aircraft design, materials and manufacturing.  The CAPTS showcased the attending companies’ product competitiveness, and at the same time, plays an important role in promoting international cooperation in China Aviation Industry.
